LAMA ANNOUNCES 2003 'BEST
of SHOW WINNERS
LHS
LIBRARY EARNS PRAISE
The
Lawrence High School Library has received an Honorable Mention
in the American Library Association's 2004 Best of Show
in the category: Special Events/Programs. To celebrate last
years Teen Read Week the LHS School Library designed
poetry trading cards. The Lawrence High School poets
picture was on one side of the card and their original poetry
was posted on the back of the card. These cards were used
as bookmarks, students traded their cards among friends
or relatives, and many teachers displayed cards in their
classrooms. This was a joint project of the English Department
and the Library. Bill Patterson, English teacher, suggested
the idea. - The Daily Post, May 5, 2004.
