Drexel University
Reviewed 22 March 2004
The Math Forum at Drexel University is a comprehensive resource for Math education assistance. The site contains hands-on web learning tools, lesson plans, and activities for pre-kindergarten through college courses. There is also a section, Teacher Two Teacher aimed at parents as well as teachers who have questions about teaching mathematics. Other helpful features are online lesson plans, divided by grade, and the Internet Mathematics Library which contains links to other math web sites. The Ask Dr. Math section is extremely helpful for librarians who field a lot of homework help questions. There is a searchable archive of answers to posted questions about mathematics from students from elementary school through college. If the answer can’t be found in the archive, then the question can be sent to Dr. Math for a response.

Math in Daily Life How Do Numbers Affect Everyday Decisions
http://www.learner.org/exhibits/dailymath/
When you buy a car, follow a recipe, or decorate your home, you're using math principles. People have been using these same principles for thousands—even millions—of years, across countries and continents. Whether you're sailing a boat off the coast of Japan or building a house in Peru, you're using math to get things done. This site examines how numbers affect everyday decisions.
Math in the Work Place
http://www.micron.com/k12/math/
If you teach it, they will learn--and maybe even use what they learn! This web site puts math in its place--the workplace--and features problems that demonstrate once and for all how students really can use this stuff that we're teaching them in the classroom. Submitted by companies as diverse as Hewlitt-Packard, the Boise Heart Clinic, and Sawtooth Lumber Sales, these problems require students to apply mathematics skills to real-world situations. Grade(s) 9 - 12
MegaMath

"MegaMath" presents important mathematical ideas & allows students & teachers to experience math in ways that it is experienced by mathematicians & scientists. Through fun activities & real world applications (tied to the NCTM standards), the project allows students to see what mathematicians actually do.
Powers of Ten
http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/primer/java/scienceopticsu/powersof10/index.html
View the Milky Way at 10 million light years from the Earth. Then move through space towards the Earth in successive orders of magnitude until you reach a tall oak tree just outside the buildings of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee, Florida. After that, begin to move from the actual size of a leaf into a microscopic world that reveals leaf cell walls, the cell nucleus, chromatin, DNA and finally, into the subatomic universe of electrons and protons.
